Head out to the Marietas Islands National Park and look for Whales, Dolphins, Turtles, and the Giant Manta Rays. The Marietas Islands are a series of barrier islands on the north entrance of the bay that provide a wonderful sanctuary for a great variety of marine life. This area was declared a national park on April 25, 2005 with over 404 different species inhabiting the islands. Over 80 species of birds nest here including several endangered species such as the very rare Blue Footed Booby which can only be found here, on the Sea of Cortez and the Galapagos Islands. At the islands there is the opportunity to snorkel, scuba dive through caves and tunnels, tour the volcanic grottos and visiting “Lovers Beach” accessible only by a surface swim through an archway.
Our most popular residents are the dolphins that inhabit the bay and like to play in the bow waves of boats. One creature you won’t find in the bay is a shark! Since dolphins raise their young in the bay, adult dolphins patrol the entrance keeping sharks out. This is an exclusive trip and space is limited to ensure the best level of service during your perfect day at sea. Minimum of 2h is needed for these excursions and we can accommodate up to 8 people. Banderas Bay is a feeding ground, nursery and play area for dozens of marine species. Whales, dolphins, seabirds and seals are attracted to large schools of herring and mackerel, which feed on plankton in the Bay. Take our boat on a tour to watch the Humpback whales and wild dolphins in their natural habitat!
* Visits to the Marietas Islands are now divided into two activities to protect the area.
1.- Access to Playa del amor only for 4 people per trip.
2.- Access to other activities around the islands, no entrance to the beach up to 8 people.

With miles of stunning beaches, there is plenty to see up and down the coast. Many beaches are secluded, and can only be accessed by boat, but we can take you to and from your own private beach for the day.
Whale Watching
Whale Watching in Punta de Mita
A Y-Knot whale watching adventure offers a lot of excitement, plenty of photo opportunities, first-hand information on whales (and other species) and fond memories your family will cherish forever. Humpback whales are regularly sighted in the Bay from December to April. When seen in waters off Punta de Mita they give birth and repeat the long journey back (traveling an average 1000 kilometers per day) to their traditional feeding grounds. There are 3 separate populations of Humpback Whales, one in the Northern Pacific Ocean, one in the Northern Atlantic Ocean, and one in the oceans of the southern hemisphere. Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin encounters are a regular, year-round occurrence in Banderas Bay. Minimum 2h for up to 8 people.
